Community Event | Café Scientifique - Quantum computing today and in the future
Invited Speaker - Prof. Jonathan Home
Prof. Home will give an overview of quantum computing, from impressions of how it works, to the state of play today and perspectives for the future.
Jonathan Home is a Professor at the ETH Zurich, where he leads a group trying to realize quantum computers using trapped atomic ions. He has produced pioneering contributions to this field, including the first implementation of quantum error correction, which is a key element of scaling up quantum systems. He also recently put single atoms on display to the public for the first time worldwide at the Technorama in Winterthur. For his work Jonathan has received a number of awards, and has presented these topics in many international forums, including TED and the WEF.
